June Catch Up!
|
6th June 2009
The end of tour was hard work and a bit of a harsh graft in the heat... late 40's during the day :S due to work - I couldn't get the tanning sorted as much as I really wanted but got a base coat on for the summer in the UK. Flying back was good fun, even with a bit of a hangover from the fun and games in Cyprus. Oh dear - actual sick up an actual coach lol. I have it all to do again when I go off on the lads holiday to Tenerife later this month. Come on!!! My laptop is still in shock of a faster internet connection, it was amazed that for the first time since I had it, it got above the 12kb speeds of the desert. Deal! Since I have been back I have been doing loads of shopping and collecting parcels from many nights spent shopping online for goodies. It was like christmas when I got back lol. I have just got myself iLife - will be testing that out later, along with Mirrors Edge and Guitar Hero: World Tour. All of which are new purchases :D I have my new car now, and have been cleaning it like a madman. All is good with it, except a stupid bint that hit hte back of me the other day. Thankfully I managed to polidh out anything that was visible (unless you really get in close). I was absolutely raging when I got out the car, but she was with her young daughter so I had to bite my lip... :@ nevermind. Been a few nights out, nothing too heavy as I am giving up the heavy boozing. The odd drink is acceptable but I am sick of hangovers and spending money in crap pubs for no reason. Plus it means I get to drive the little beast about :D winner! I have an awesome few days coming up, got a few nights out planned and some meals etc. so that will all be good fun ;) The car is booked in for its audio installation on monday, looking forward to getting that sorted - gonna be BOOM BOOM! It will be a great way to test out the new CDs I have been picking up. There is soooo many good tracks about at the moment. I'll post up some recommended music soon. Watch this space. I have been looking to keep the fitness on track and with a request to play footy for a mates team last week coming my way, has set me up to get out running again. I need to keep up the form I guess and it feels good at the same time! ^_^ I am starting my saving now, all of it going towards a place of my one next year. I am pretty much excited - but still narrowing down where I want to live in the country... hmmmmm. So to get me to bed at a reasonable time, I will end it there. I'll be online a little more hopefully, So I'll get the posts flowing again. Hope peeps are all good. ^_^ |

iStat
|
8th May 2009
1, The first part is the widget - which sits on your Dashboard and does the following. It shows you your CPU and RAM usage in good detail by breaking it down into sections. It can keep an eye on you HDD free space on all your HDDs. It shows, in a pretty little graph, your Up and Download speeds, including the best rate reached overall. As the Macbook has many different temperature sensors it tells you what they are all heated at. The left and right fans are monitored in a simple account of rpm and finally it shows the total runtime of the laptop so far. 2, Next is the near same as above but for your iPhone. Lots of similar style tools that watch the components of your iPhone and also has the option to free up some memory manually. Clever Stuff. Lastly... 3, Using iStat Server, another very small software download, which allows you to connect your iPhone to your laptop. Using the Wi-Fi on your iPhone you can monitor the same stats you see on the widget from your phone. Now that is clever. It might not exactly have much of a use when you are sat next to it, but used on an actual server that is locked away or not readily accessible, you can check that things are all tickedy-boo. So check out these links for downloading and have a little play... iStat iPhone App | iStat Server |

It was never my intention to brag...

5th May 2009
So have been getting good news recently, I am pretty much waiting for the shit to hit the fan with something or another. hmmmmm. I found out that I have been underpaid by a good chunk each month for the last year and should be getting it all back this month ^_^ and I have now received my annual report that says that I am doing really well. Cheers Easy! I am proper looking forward to heading back to the UK now, plenty of people to see, places to go and things to do. The list is pretty ridiculous TBH. I have alot of miles to cover in the new motor. Which reminds me - I need to check if the audio is ready?! Anyway, I have been feeling proper tired today as I deliberately stayed up late last night so I can sleep during the day ready for a night shift tonight. It ended up being canned, those on FB would have seen my status this morning lol. I am probably going to sack off my holiday this summer and go skiing later in the year. I can't see the point of heading out to somewhere hot as I already have a tan :P sorry hun lol. I need to look for good ski/snowboard resorts in europe or wherever to pick from. Any peeps been to the right sorts of places? got some ideas? I might take a certain someone along... we'll have to see what is going on! Anyway, my bum is going numb sat on this here bag so I am off to get cosy with a film. Hmmmm... What to watch? C. ^_^ x |

A Little Break
|
1st May 2009
So I got a couple weeks to keep myself occupied down here before I head back for the last of it all and I am on the look out for new things to be watching on the web or to download off of it. The recent find thanks to Stoney was a very funny and quite disturbing comic style cartoon called Monkey Dust. It is a mixture of characters that experience the realities of life and portrayed in a way that is very graphic and sick. If you find things offensive very easily - I wouldn't watch it but if you are very open minded and like a laugh at others expense, then get on the torrents and see what you come up with. I have watched the first season and will embark on the second later on tonight... That is it - I officially cannot see - FUCKING SAND! lol. I am very much looking forward to a bit of leave over the summer and have loads of things lined up to keep me fully occupied. Oh and give me my new car NOW! Oh, I will be selling loads of stuff when I get back - a bit of a sort out will be taking place for sure. Right I am off to phone some peeps - Smiles all round! ^_^ x |

Liquid Mac
|
29th April 2009
LiquidMac is a pretty special app that, allows use of your Mac's Accelerometer. By using the variables you can tilt and spash about a liquid like material on your screen. Change the controls to size, style and colour your liquid to just how you want it. It is hard to explain but is seen in this post's image. Check it out and you'll get what I mean. It is totally free too, but please donate as it keeps things like this poping about the web for all to enjoy. Deal! |

Picturesque
|
24th April 2009
It is a little costly at $35 (£18) but it does have the best interface and is extremely easy to use and produces amazing results. I am not going to go into much detail but just to let you know - it won the 2007 Apple Design Award for Best MAC OS X Student Product. So, if you like the new style images you see here then get the trial version, fall in love with it and buy it. This is one happy customer - Thanks Acqualia. |

Something a little different
|
24th April 2009
So I have been pretty busy with this, that and the other. Work has ben a little more varied the past few days. If only I could write more about it all, but it is all good fun and there is more to come so I hear. Woop! Also, to those that know, I am really looking forward to the adventures next year!! ^_^ So, as you can see there have been some funny times recently. Robbo decided that a mankini was an important thing to buy and couldn't resist wearing it about last night. Oh dear. If you are on is friends list on the book of faces, then I'd advise checking out his pics that are coming very soon. Mildly amusing to say the least. So I have been topping up the tan where possible, ready for the summers' fun and games. I cannot wait for some time off, picking up the new car, seeing some faces, seeing some new places, V-Fest, Reading, Newquay, Aberdeen and all the places inbetween. Which reminds me - I need to get hold of last nights' episode of the Inbetweeners. Woop! Love. C. ^_^ x |

A Fucking Joke
|
21st April 2009
Anywho... That is the rant out the way. So how has everyone been? I have given myself some very patchy back tanage. The ability to put sun cream on ones back is alot more difficult that you may think. I have a 'Red Zebra' thing going on lol. Winner! Hahahah that actually made me laugh so the positivity might be creeping back in. I have added another pic to the Iraq gallery and to my Flickr. I am looking forward to the summer and some well deserved leave I thinks. I could do with a cold beer and some racing about in the new motor. Obviously not to be done at the same time. Thanks Fran for the morale boosting photo - what were you doing with that doll? Why was it hanging upside down from the kitchen cupboard? Very random lol. Morale is in order, so I'm off for my third can of Dr Pepper this morning. I'll add more a little later on today. Busy Busy!! C. ^_^ x |

Yeah, I know it has changed again
|
18th April 2009
I think it is a pretty good design and still uses alot of the previous code, once again it is tidied up and I have tried to reduce its size. I have implemented the Archive now for three reasons: 1) To free up the home page, making it neater and 2) To still allow access to all of the previous posts and finally 3) To keep a general record of what I have been ranting about. Deal! So what has been going on? Well, Plenty of changes at work with moves and taskings. Plenty of random evenings playing cards and chillin' - Good Times. I have been trying to get back into a little Parkour but the daylight hours and work has been making it difficult. I am pretty much ready to come home though, but it wouldn't bother me if I were to stay out for another couple months. The longer I stay the more money I don't spend (outside of my small online shopping spree last wek lol). I am in the need of a very simple Shout/Tag box type script. Name/URL/Comment into simple html/php. I used something before but I cannot find it on the tweb at the moment. I'll try again tomorrow maybe. Oh I have been keeping up to date with the new series of Inbetweeners, probably the funniest thing around at the moment. "You just punched a fish to death!" - Quote of the month for sure! I am looking to get some night photography done, one evening this coming few days where possible. A mate has got himself a Digi-SLR and needs a few pointers so we'll get out and about. So I'll hopefully get some new pics on here and the Flickr pretty soon... Laters. C. ^_^ x |
